My Story

I was born on December 8, 1997 and I even got these fancy papers from a place called AKC. When I was 7 weeks old I went with a family to my new home. It was nice at first, but one of the kids kept getting funny bumps on her body so I had to stay outside. I guess they forgot how much fun I can be because they stopped playing with me and just came out to give me food. It got very cold and wet at night, but I didn't complain.

Then a little while ago I went with some new people to a new place to stay. It's really great, I'm allowed in the house again and I have two playmates. At first I was very nervous with the new place and the new people and the new playmates. I wasn't quite sure what the other two were doing when they would roll around around on the floor or tug at either end of an object, but now I'm right in there. Oh boy, what fun. We wrestle and chase each other around the yard and the house. I'm learning that some times and some places aren't good for wrestling, but my playmates usually start it, really, I wouldn't lie to you. I'm really good with all kinds of people, even the little ones. I know I'm not supposed to jump so I restrict it to when mom first comes home. She doesn't like that, but I can't get any loving if I don't jump because my playmates push me out of the way. I do know not to jump on the little ones, they wouldn't understand I just want to say 'HI' and get some loving.

I've discovered so many new things lately. They have this yellow round thing that they throw and I go get it and bring it back (they call it a 'tennis ball', I don't know about that, I just like to chase it and play with it). I think they have learned that I will do anything for that ball. I also discovered water, and swimming. That didn't take long at all. Now I just run right in and swim in circles. The absolute best is when mom or dad throws that ball in the water - I always bring it back so they can throw it again. I also love riding in the car, so much I even jumped in the trunk one time when mom was loading it up.

I've been doing so well in my training that mom and dad give me the entire run of the house when they are gone. I know not to touch anything and to go out the small door off the back if I have to go pee. Once, they left me for 5 hours and the only thing I touched was the toilet paper in the bathroom (I had to sneeze). I just want to do the right thing, just I don't always know what that is. Once I get shown what to do, I'm real good at it. I even got to go to some agility course training, boy was that fun! There were tunnels to crawl through, big wood things to climb over, and jumps to do. I had the best time, and mom and dad said I did really well!

I was alone for so long before coming to where I am now that I really don't like being left, but I'm o.k. as long as my playmates are here. Mom and dad think my permanent home should have another friend for me to play with or someone home most of the time. I really want to find a permanent home soon. I have so much love to give that I've been storing up.
